Mr. Hamn class has been very helpful to me. I have learned how to use Wikipedia and how to edit. I have also learned how to use Blog and my Blogging skills have improved since the begging of the semester.   

College

This is my last 2 weeks of my first year of college. This year has been great, it has had it's ups and it has had its downs but at the end of the day I am proud to say that I did it!!!

My doc 3 is finally finish and I think that it had turned out very well. At first I was doing it on David Patten then I changed it to Dj Shockley.

My Doc 3 has tough me that DJ Shockley was an underrated football player and he does not get the respect that he desires.

Peer review

Peer review is good because our classmates can help us on our paper. They can give helpful advice and tips to make our paper better. They can catch the little mistakes that you would usually skip over.

Doc 3.

My doc 3 is about D.J. Shockley and how he was the most underrated quarterback to ever play for the University of Georgia. The hard part about this essay is that it is hared to find information about him. But that hasn't really stopped me because I already know a lot about him as a player.

End of the semester

Well my first year in college first semester is getting close to a end. I have about five more weeks before its Christmas break and the start of my second semester. this semester has had its ups and its downs but it has been an experience that I will never forget.

Favorite Blog Post

My favorite thing to blog about is how we use the class wiki in class and ways how it help us. I like writing about this topic because I can explain to others how it helps me and ways it can help other people.

Wiki

At the start of the semester I didn't really like Wikipedia because I didn't know how to use it. But I have learned how to make a sandbox and how to look up information for my topic I have really liked it. Its a great way to share ideas with others and you learn new thimg from it all the time.

Conflict between child/adult

The main conflict between adults and kids are that kids think that they are older then what they are and adults treat kids like little kids. This is a conflict that has and will go on for a long time.

Childhood Games

One of the best thing in everyone childhood are the games we played. One of my favorite childhood game is hid-and-seek and the bored game sorry. I remember my friends and family use to play these games all day and just have a good time. Memories that will be with me forever. 

Google +

Google + is a good resource to use for a big class like the one I am in now. Instead of sending a document to everyone directly 1 by 1 witch can take a very long time, all you have to do is to share it and everyone gets it all at one time.

A conflict with family.

If you ask me every family has some type conflict. But each family conflict is different. For instant if I had to say that their was a conflict in my family it has to be sports related. Some people in my family likes this particular team while others like the other team rival. So you know when ever the two rival teams are playing everyone is watching the game.

Role of guns in America

Guns are suppose to be there for our safety. But it seems like guns are used for revenge instead of protection. People now a days will pull a gun out on someone over the simplest things and take someone life. We need to realize haw dangerous guns are and use them responsibly.

Using Google Drive in class

Google drive is very useful especially outside of class. If you are in a group and yall are working on a project, all you have to do is share with them the link to your drive and everyone in the group can do their part on their own time. Its a great way to share ideas and help people.

David Patten

David Patten was signed by the New York Giants March 24, 1997 after missing the 1996 season. Later he was released by the Giants and then he re-signed with the Giants practice squad.

Information that I've learned from my wiki project.

I've learned that David Patten was born in Hopkins, South Carolina.  He was just signed a contract with the Albany Firebirds as a street free agent.

Using Blogging in class

Blogging in class helps me because that is wen the information is fresh in my mind. Depending on the week we talk about different stuff on our class blog. We share ideas, tell others what we learned and we comment on other students pages.

David Patten

David Patten is an American and he plays professional football for the Cleveland Browns. David was and raised in the state of South Carolina. He is doing what most NFL players have not done and that is to play personal football for over 17 seasons. He is 41 years old and still a productive player.

What makes and effective introduction to a Wikipedia article

What makes an effective introduction to a Wikipedia article? When you are writing your introduction you are informing the reader what is going to be in the body. Like for my Wikipedia article it gives the reader a little information about David Patten before it talks more in depth on his football career.

The best thing that I learned in this class

The best thing that I have learned in this class is creating a blog page and learning how to post things onto my blog. I find this interesting because this is something that I have never done before or never thought of doing. I like how I can write about what I've learned in class and share it to others and I can go on other peoples page and see what they had to write for the week on their blog page. This is a great way to share ideas with others.

I have changed my Wikipedia from American football to my favorite football player Michael Vick. This is Michael Vick 15th season in the NFL and he is playing with his 4th in the NFL. The four teams that he has been apart of are the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets and not the Pittsburg Steelers.   

Finding humor in a strange situation

Finding humor in a strange situation can be hard at times. It can be hard because usually the reason why you are in a strange situation is because something didn't turn out exactly as planned. But even though it didn't go as planned the best way to get over the situation is by laughing at it.

Stereotypes

The biggest stereotype that we face in this day of age is that girls can't do what a guy can do or guys do thing better then girls. Both sexes have there strengths and weaknesses. Guys are usually better at things that deals with using our muscle and girls are usually better at thing that they can solve mentally. Men tend to think that a girl can't handle the weight when it comes to thing that have to come with strength when in reality the really can.

MLA

MLA format is something we all are use to. MLA is the format that your paper will be in. MLA format consist of your first and last name in the top left hand corner of the page following the date, professor name, and your class. Also when you are typing a paper that is in MLA format the lines are double space and you should have your last name and the page number in the top right corner of your paper.

American Football

My Wikipedia article is about American Football. American football is the most popular sports in the nation. You can start playing from the age of 8 till you go professional. Most people who play professional football usually play 10 years before they retire.

Sloppy and Neat people

I read a short essay that was written by Suzanne Britt and the title of her essay is Neat People vs. Sloppy people. There are two different types of people, a neat person and a sloppy person. Neat people are usually mean and uptight, a sloppy person is more laid back and chill. In her essay she tells us how neat people are lazier then sloppy people and how sloppy people are really not that sloppy as they seem. I consider myself with a "sloppy person" attitude but in all in all I'm really a neat person without having be a mean personality.  

Gay Marriage

My thoughts about gay marriage. I feel like everyone has that special someone in their life. That special person could be with the opposite sex, or the same sex. But at the end of the day I think that everyone should be with whoever makes them happy.   

My Wiki Topic

Since I don't have a major and I am undecided, I will talk to yall about my passion and what I love to do. I love to play and watch football. Football has been in my life ever since I was eight years old. Football has been an outlet for me and it has helped me through life. I know what you might be thinking, how can football help you go through life? Well the biggest thing that I've learned from football is that to never give up. Giving up and loosing is the easy part. Getting up and continue to fight your fight is the hard part. But you have to dig down deep and continue to fight because if you give up you will be giving up on life.    

Writers Voice

When you are writing a paper the writers voice is very important. In my blog post the writers voice is stuffy. The voice of the writer determines the mood of the paper and how the story is told.

Handle the reader in my Doc1

I handled the reader in my doc 1 by telling them the thesis it the begging of my paper. By doing that I got the readers  attention by telling them what my paper is about. 

The thesis

In my Doc1 article the thesis is in the beginning of my paper. The thesis basically tells you what you paper will be about.

Handling the reader

When you write you are connecting with the reader. Connecting with the reader isn't hard. In English we call it "hooking the reader" and that is where you get the readers attention. Once you have hooked the reader you have connected with the reader.

How you use writing as a tool of learning.

You use writing as a way of learning when you right down your ideas. Writing down your ideas helps you sort out what you are trying to think because in your head your mind and thought is jumbled up. Writing out what we think makes it explicit and we can deal with our emotions by sharing them to others.

Online Image Doc 1 topic.

I have learned that it is very important to have a professional online image because once you post something to the internet it is on there forever. Now a day if someone wants to find more about you they just type your name into Google and it tells them all about you. For instants, when you apply for a job the boss of the company will look you up to see if your online image is professional. Same thing if an organization wants to give you a scholarship. Depending on your online image it can either hurt your future or it can help you out and you have the opportunity to change that.     

My first few weeks of college

College has been great so far! I've met a lot of new people and I have even made a couple of new friends. Coming into college I was nervous because I didn't really know anyone  here, but it turns out that I have met a lot of cool people in this small town. I had to get use to the "country" life style because I am from metro Atlanta. Where I am from there are a lot of houses, stores, and  people. Cochran is the complete opposite. But I learned in the short amount of time I have been here is that everyone pretty much knows everyone and its a cool town.

What have I learned about Wikipedia? I learned that Wikipedia is an open source for anyone to go on and change and edit on a topic. It is actually easy! All you have to do is go to edit, type out what you want to add, and then click save changes. After you have done all of that, people are now able to read and review on your idea from all over the world.
