What makes and effective introduction to a Wikipedia article

What makes an effective introduction to a Wikipedia article? When you are writing your introduction you are informing the reader what is going to be in the body. Like for my Wikipedia article it gives the reader a little information about David Patten before it talks more in depth on his football career.

    Yeah totally agree with you. The introduction should be able to give an insight to the topic.
